cga training

The Background

Training companies of all sizes tend to refer to themselves as ‘ we’, especially when they are small scale. Delusions of grandeur or marketing hype. Who knows ?

cga training refers to itself as ‘I’ - to put it simply, cga training is me. I am a UK-based communications skills trainer and consultant and I deliver short, highly targeted seminars and a raft of consultancy services across the world. This website should give you some insight into the kinds of services I offer. The range of courses is quite limited - I only work in areas where I have real expertise. The seminars I offer are:

Report Writing    Presentation Skills    Written English that Works     High Impact Business Writing   Train the Trainer

Time Management    Cross Cultural Communication    Working with the British    Working with the Russians

I also provide tailored consultancy and recruitment services in the education and training sector to clients around the world.

About me

My background is setting up and growing SMEs that operate on the international stage. I set up my first company, English Worldwide, at the age of 25 and sold it when I was 40 to a large Japanese corporation. I have run two other SMEs since then, and all these companies have operated in the education and training sector at an international level. Through these businesses I have worked or run projects in over 30 countries as diverse as South Africa, Azerbaijan, Dubai and Italy. I am currently a partner in Education and Training International, a Moscow-based training business that provides services to corporates across the Russian Federation. You can see more at www.educatrain.ru. I was also a founding partner in EL Gazette New Media, a digital publishing company specialising in the education sector and based in London – please visit www.elgazettedigital.com

I am involved in these companies in parallel with my commitments with cga training and believe that the fact that I run real businesses enhances the quality of the training and consultancy that I deliver. In short I am not just a consultant, as I bring real front-line international business experience over a 25 year period to my seminars - clients always tend to notice this. I have many years experience putting the skills that I teach in the seminars into practice.

In addition to training and consultancy, I also write on international business education and cross cultural topics. I was the contributing editor of ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Russia’, published in 2008 by the Independent Media Group in Moscow and am currently working on an International MBA Guide for the same publisher. I also regularly write book reviews for the Delta Intercultural Academy and have had articles published in the EL Gazette (UK) and Europa Vicina (Italy).

Why use cga training ?

The key reason is that small is beautiful. In the larger training practices, the client will probably not meet the trainer until the event itself. With cga training from the beginning of the process to the end of the training event, you deal with me. There are very real benefits of operating on this scale.

From the beginning I can get a clear understanding of the training and developmental needs of your delegates. Only this level of understanding can ensure that the course is fully tailored to meet your needs.I do not have rigid timetables or standard approaches. Working directly with me gives you the flexibility to have the training you want, when and where you want it.

Training needs to be flexible not only in terms of content but also in terms of method of delivery and overall approach. With cga training you have the flexibility to get the most relevant content delivered in the optimum way to your delegates.Because I deliver the training myself, the Quality Assurance process is very direct. Every course for every client, whether an established one or a new one is very important to me. With cga training you are not just a name on a client list, you are an individual handled with care and great attention to detail throughout.

But how can you be large enough to deal with the complex developmental needs of a large client like me ? A common enough question. My best answer to that is to take a look at my client list. I think it speaks for itself and if it doesn’t, I can arrange for you to contact clients to discuss the programmes I have delivered for them.

I hope you enjoy the website
